Our dear friend, Linda Bock, passed away on October 3, 2023. Those of you who knew Linda, know what an amazing person and activist she was. She was a long time Board Member & Officer for Fix Democracy First.
Linda was born and raised in the southeastern part of the United States and was happy to be a transplant from the right coast to the left coast. Her work with WAmend's Initiative 1329, and then with the successful Initiative 735, was her first major foray into the world of politics. Linda was the top signature gatherer for I-735, collecting over 21,000 signatures!
Linda was also featured in Hedrick Smith's documentary, Democracy Rebellion. Linda and WAmend's effort to pass I-735, is featured in the first section, Grassroots vs ‘Citizens United’. You can view the entire documentary HERE.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Catherine "Katy" Laghrour, and grandson, Adam. Our hearts go out to Katy and Adam for their loss.
Every day working with WAmend and Fix Democracy First Linda was constantly reminded of Margaret Mead’s words to “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” She was truly one of those committed citizens. Linda will be greatly missed.
